Perthshire highlights

Famous for dramatic mountains, glens and lochs, ancient castles and unspoilt nature, golf, fishing, walking and adventure – throw in lots of distinctive cultural venues and exciting events and you’ve got Perthshire; the big county.

Lots of breathtaking scenery here, and you’ll have the choice of simply relaxing in stunning surroundings or getting stuck into outdoor activities. We’ve chosen a few of our favourite places in this neck of the woods!

House of Bruar

House of Bruar is Scotland’s premier independent country fashion retailer, bringing together an impressive collection of traditional Tweeds and cashmere garments with the latest in rural style for a unique shopping experience. To be honest, no trip to Scotland is complete without a visit to The Home of Scottish Country Clothing.

There’s also a stunning selection of the best in Scottish food and drink in the Food Hall and Delicatessen, with a firm focus on locally-sourced goods from small, artisan producers. You’ll find everything from gourmet smoked salmon to their very own exclusive Sloe Gin and Raspberry liqueurs – this is a real place of luxury in Scotland.

Loch Leven

Loch Leven is one of the most famous lochs in Perthshire. The RSPB Loch Leven is at the southwestern end of the loch, just outside of Kinross. Their visitor centre helps you learn more about the loch and its wildlife. You can browse the shop for souvenirs and be tempted by goodies in the café.

Highland Fling Bungee

Stunning scenery, 132 feet of freefall… are you game? Highland Fling is the only permanent bridge bungee operation in the UK, and it’s so much fun!

The bungee jump is from the 40-metre (or 132-foot) River Garry Bridge which is just outside Killiecrankie and 4 miles from the tourist town of Pitlochry.

From the bungee platform located under the bridge there are spectacular views to be enjoyed before you leap out into the fresh air falling toward the water below at up to 50 miles an hour.

Enjoy the wild side of Scotland with Highland Fling Bungee Jumping! We dare you.

Monachyle Mhor

Dine at the beautifully picturesque Mhor Restaurant in the middle of beautiful Scottish countryside. The food is heavenly.

Cairngorms

One of the top things to do in Blairgowrie is to visit the Cairngorms. The centre of this famous Scottish Cairngorms is just over an hour away from Blairgowrie.

Known for its breath-taking mountains, forest paths, rivers, lochs and rare Scottish wildlife millions of tourists travel to the friendly villages within the Cairngorms every year.

If you are planning a trip to the beach during your visit to the Cairngorms check out Loch Morlich. This picture-perfect coastline is simply magnificent and makes a great day out for couples on romantic breaks as well as families that want to make some sandcastles and memories on their travels.

Glenlyon Tea Room

Lovely wee café deep in the Glenlyon, serving fresh food and Glenlyon roasters coffee every day, near Aberfeldy. The perfect pit stop for tea and scones!

Delivino

Delicatessen and Wine cafes in both Crieff AND Auchterarder – great service, fantastic menu and just an all round awesome place to eat and drink. Highly recommended by The CAP Club!
